Hi! I’m Martin. Welcome to my blog! Find out what to expect here.
My name is Martin Zach, and I am a Information and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering student at the Graz University of Technology. I am particularly interests in optimization, specifcally in low level image restoration tasks, such as denoising or inpainting. In fact, I just finished my Masters Thesis (🎉) on Structured Learning of Energy Based Models in Image Restoration, in which we trained a multiscale residual neural network generatively, such that it can be used for a range of tasks. I also plan to finish my second masters thesis soon, which will be concerning learning regularizers for 3D Computed Tomography.
The plan for this website is two-fold:
First of, I want it to be a serious reference for people who want to find out about me and what I am doing, or who want to actually read up on the topics that I happened to be working on.
Second, the webside should be a fun place where I can share stuff that is not directly related to my research.
Specifically that would be the setup that I am using to actually “do” the research.
I want to share details of my workflow, that mainly consists of editing text in vim
, or more specifically neovim
(in fact I am writing this in neovim
right now!).
Doesn’t sound like a lot, does it?
That is the whole point!
You would be surprised what we can achieve with this terminal based text editor.
If you have any questions about any of the material on the website, you can reach out to me at me@martin-zach.com.
Have fun!
